The Diver

I went to see “The Diver”, a play directed by Japanese famous director Noda Hideki, to SoHo theatre, because the play at 3:00 on Thursday was the cheapest one, it just cost 7.50 pounds. Noda also played a main character.
It’s kind of psycho suspense and includes the elements of a Japanese traditional play and a literature.

The stage is in Tokyo of today, but one girl misunderstands herself as the characters of The Tale of Genji, which is a famous Japanese historic literature.

I didn’t expect that it was interesting, but it’s actually very intriguing.
I felt it was a psycho suspense drama so that the message was not so poetic, but the staging and acts were very sophisticated and exciting as a suspense drama.
